Museum of Power Bike Meet 05-8-2018

The weather was promising and therefore I was looking forward to going on this run.  Pat had left for sunnier climates to be with her grandson in California few days earlier hence Brian was riding solo.

Turned up at Otterspool Way only to meet up with Brian and Chris. This was a very poor attendance with just three of us. The weather forecast was good however, there were lots of other events taking place locally.

We set off promptly at 9am for Rose’s café with Brian taking the lead. I had my Satnav setup just in case Brian had a relapse. Although the café is not too far from the museum it is the turn off at the roundabout that always confuses us in the past.  Anyway as it happens Brian got us there without mistakes and in good time.

On arrival Laurie was waiting for us and so we all decided to have a breakfast. The sun was shining therefore breakfast outside made sense before continuing our short journey to the Museum. We were directed to park-up with the other bikes. The weather was getting very hot luckily I has frozen water bottles with me which were very refreshing.

There were lots of bikes on display as well as wide representation of club stands displaying a good selection of vintage to classics to modern bikes. The usual stalls selling all kind of goods.

There was a live band playing Rock ‘n’ Roll music throughout the day. We were also treated to couple of ‘Burlesque dances’ by the ladies. As we walked around Brian purchased few different herbal teas and I managed to buy some freshly roasted coffee beans.

We made our way to the cafeteria for a drink when we bumped into Colin Roberts. Had a quick catch-up then onwards to look at all the exhibits and then back to the bikes. Brian had to go back early in order to do a bit more packing as he was fly to Los Angeles the next morning to join Pat.

Brian, Chris and myself decided to call it a day and headed for home. It was a fantastic day’s ride with perfect weather, free entry to the museum, live music band and the lovely Burlesque dancers.

In fact if remember it correctly it was this particular run with the Bee’s was my very first almost nine years ago. Where does the time go?
